Does anyone know when they begin making calls regarding Spring 2019 or Fall 2018 admission?
hi,
I was just take off the waitlist 2 days ago and accepted into the class of 2022
How were you contacted?
My daughter (who accepted a spot on the waitlist) received a phone message a little bit ago from her Lehigh admissions rep. She’s at the gym so will return his call when she gets home but I would assume he is calling to offer her a spot as I’m not aware of them calling to tell you that you don’t get a spot.
And she did get offered a spot but turned it down so hopefully that means someone else on the waitlist will get a call.
Just wondering what measures she took if any to get off the waitlist? Since being placed on the waitlist, did you guys contact admissions, visit again, etc.? I was told there is no waiting list rank, and it’s based mostly on interested. Thank you! Where is your daughter going instead?
@ats0413 Both she and her guidance counselor contacted the admissions rep after getting her waitlist decision to express her continuing interest to attend I am a Lehigh alum so I actually contacted the head of admissions directly who never replied so I’m not sure that made a difference or not. It’s certainly possible that my alum status did ultimately make a difference in getting offered a spot off the waitlist this early in the process. But other than that she didn’t take any other action.
She is attending University of Maryland Honors College which will cost us $30k less per year. I would have loved for her to attend my alma mater and I think my Lehigh education and experience were phenomenal - but I can’t in good faith say that she will get a $120k better education and experience at Lehigh over UMD. Her stats are high enough that I actually thought she might get merit aid and lo and behold she wasn’t even accepted outright so it’s a very competitive environment.
i also was contacted by phone from the regional admissions rep.
i also took very extensive measures to make sure Lehigh knew i was still interested. this included several letters, emails, and phonecalls. also contacting local alums and getting a couple letters of rec as well.
Still waiting to hear about the wait list. Anyone else waiting ??
@soup123 me!
@soup123 @Jenbio101 Me 3!
Does anyone know when is the lastest Lehigh will get back to us? Also if we’re rejected from the waitlist will we hear back as well?
Hopefully soon! Need to sign up for my housing and orientation at other college ASAP. Also heard it might not be until June, but that sounds way too late.
@ats0413 why are you waiting to sign up for orientation and housing? The odds of coming off the waitlist are very slim. You risk getting sub-optimal housing and orientation date options the longer you wait.
Honestly given the very small number of people they took off the waitlist last year it wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve already filled all their waitlist spots.
@adlgel Congrats to your daughter! If you don’t mind, could you share her basic stats (GPA, Test Scores)? thanks so much!
@crknwk2000 GPA 4.0 UW/4.95 W and SAT 1550 (one sitting)
Thanks, @adlgel. I know I don’t know the full picture, but I would’ve thought she would’ve gotten merit aid at Lehigh, too.
I wonder what the admissions office is looking for when they review the applications because I have a friend who got accepted with a full ride and she only scored an 1190 on the SAT.
Called today and was told waitlist offers have gone out, unknown if anymore will go out. Unfortunately we didn’t get one.
We didn’t either.
