Hi guys! Recently I just applied to the business school with an economics major. I applied ED2 so I would have good chances. One of the dilemmas I am facing is my hard stats. I have a 3.2 W gpa with an upward trend and 25 act. Outside of the classroom I have performed extraordinarily. I have started a non-profit to
help my community during this recession we are facing, have been involved in political campaigns, I have held two internships. One with a financial adviser and another with an investment strategies firm. I have volunteered 400+ hours at a local assisted living home. Also, all throughout high school I have held a job to help
Support my family-mostly marketing/sales jobs. I had an off campus interview a couple months ago. It went very well. She thought I was very mature of my age because I knew a lot about the job market and how it's going to be by the time I graduate. I also gave her my r

Send me your essay and I’ll chance you in a more thorough light. Your ECs are relatively impressive – but that doesn’t forgo the fact that your GPA is on the low side (Your ACT is quite weak; try to improve it?). I’m really hoping your essays are going to be brilliant – that is probably your only hope at this point (could be your ‘wow’ factor). Send it over, and I’ll try to help out in any way I can.

I’m going to disagree slightly with Chuck. I wouldn’t say a brilliant essay is your ONLY hope; while your GPA and ACT are below the 25th percentile at Lehigh, you’ve shown yourself to be mature and to have great work ethic. Lehigh takes a holistic approach to reviewing applicants so they will take it all into consideration before judging you solely on your academic stats. Without a great essay, however, I do agree that your chances will be slim, but the college admissions process isn’t a predictable one.

Best of luck!

Thanks guys! Anyone else? I’d really like to hear what all of you think.
