Hi. Can anyone tell me about Lehigh's engineering majors? I think the US NEWS ranking of Lehigh is quite ambivalent(rank Lehigh top 40 while not many courses are ranked top 20), so I really wish to hear some true voices rather than rely on these "misleading" stats. Thanks a lot! =)

My take: Lehigh is a strong private research university that is probably more personal and undergraduate focused than many large public schools. They seem to keep the class size down. They seem to send their graduates to top graduate schools. There is a ton of opportunity for undergraduates to do research. In a way it kind of feels like the atmosphere of a liberal arts college with the solid academics of a research university.

Personally, I think very highly of it and think that it’s a tad underrated. I know plenty of successful Lehigh Engineering graduates.

In a lot of ways, it’s similar to University of Rochester, though probably a bit more pre-professional because of the business programs.

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. I always heard that professors in many public uni are not very interested in teaching undergraduate students, so I think I must look for a school which is strong in engineering majors as well as teaching so that I can make tremendous progress. So do you know about Case Western Reserve(CWR)? How is their environment and engineering majors? Thanks a lot! =)

This isn’t limited to public universities. It is research universities on general.
