How long does it take for IU to admit me, because it is a rolling admissions college?

I sent in my application around first week of September and all of my counselor/transcript stuff got sent in a week later. And I am still waiting for the letter.

So how long will it take for them to admit me?

It shouldn't take longer than a month right?

Submitted early October-ish and got a response on
December 2nd. :) Last years admissions. So send them
in now! I bet admissions will be higher this year, so earlier
the better!

im was wondering the same thing. I applied sept 3 and they still havent updated my status saying that they got every thing. have they updated your status yet?

class2009 - I applied on September 13 and was accepted last Thursday (online, letter hasn't arrived yet). Have you tried emailing them to see if they received the counselor form and ACT scores?

It is difficult to wait. D completed application prior to HS school starting. Her GC wasn't around yet so she had to wait for school to start. She was then out for a couple of weeks with mono. She finally got to it around in mid September. GC is good about getting them out pretty quick. I confirmed they received SAT scores (sent after her May test) even though her status has not been updated. This was a little scary because when I called for her, there is another girl with exactly the same name (and lower scores). I caught this because the admissions counselor mentioned ACT scores which DD does not have. When I pointed this out she pulled the correct scores by the birthdate.

It sounds like D is about a week behind Jaris. Unfortunately the site is messed up this morning-asking for a user name before you can get to the status check point. I hope that means they've input lots of updates.

JVO, Class2009, and Jaris--just curious--are in you instate or OOS?

im out of state, too. i guess i will try e-mailing them, but i dont want to seem annoying because on the website it says it could take up to 6 week, and it has only been 5 weeks. it just seems weird because i have heard of quite a few students who applied after me and have already heard.

congrats JVO!!!
so i went and asked my college councilor today about IU not getting my stuff, and she said that my school isnt sending the IU info for a week or 2. They want to send in all of the students stuff from my school at the same time. This is so annoying, i applied so long ago and the only thing holding me back is my councilor letter and transcript! I dont know what to say to her to get the point across that i want them to send it now.

Your counselor should be fired. The faster your stuff gets to IU the better your chance for scholarships. She needs to learn the difference between schools with rolling admissions and ones without. Is she justifying her laziness in the name of being "fair"? Your stats are borderline for Hutton money, and all other things being equal, the sooner Hutton gets your application, the better your chance of getting some money, even if it is only a thousand or two a year. A lot of the bigger scholarships require admittance (not just an application) by November 1. IU rewards kids who are responsible and motivated enough to apply early, and your counselor won't do her job. Is this her first year as a counselor or something? Hard to believe no one has complained about her to your principal or school board.

This is her first year, but the whole college counseling team is sending them in together. I go to a small private school that has 4 college counseliors for under 200 students and prides them self on how good they are. personally i dont think they have anything to pride themselves on when they arnt sending in my stuff. What difference does it make for me if the other students are lazy and haven't sent in there apps yet, i shouldnt be penalized because of them.

sorry about the rant, im just really frustrated!

class2009--DD was updated today and accepted. You should print out the scholarship page for your counselor and impress upon him/her that your form absolutely needs to be in by Nov 1 for you to have a decent chance at the merit scholarships. Based upon another one of your posts you have a chance at one. If need be, get your parents involved. Private schools don't like to irritate parents and in this instance the delay could end up costing you 1000's of extra dollars.

class2009- Please listen to rrah's advice. Your counselor needs to know that delaying submission is putting scholarships at risk. Frankly, it's amazing that the counseling team doesn't know/care about something as basic as this.

At my DD's private high school, they were quick to boast about how many millions of dollars in scholarships their graduates had been awarded. That number would surely have been less if they had delayed submissions on rolling admission schools.
