Length Of Common App. Essay???

<p>I am wondering what is the desired length of the common app. essay -- mine's at 668 words and I'm not sure if that's too long.</p>

<p>Also, should I put my name (and SS#?) at the top in case it gets misplaced?</p>

<p>Mine’s 850 words but the recommended is 500-600.</p>

<p>At the top, put: name, DOB, college, ss# (optional)</p>

<p>Thanks for your message. I did see on the printed Common App. that you MUST put your name, date of birth, and name of high school on each sheet submitted. Does that mean if, on a word document, the essay comes out to three pages, you must do this for each page? Not sure of how it will translate (page-wise) after uploading.</p>
