Anyone else think so? I thought I bombed the science section and ended up getting a 34...did they have like a +2 curve or something?

I thought I did ok and I got 28 so I really don’t wanna know! lol

I thought I missed one or two and received a 34 on the science, so I do not think it was that lenient. Maybe a -1 = 35, -2 = 34, -3 = 33, etc…

im pretty sure i guessed on 7 problems and was unsure on about 5…and got a 28

im sure it was good

It was very good because I was guessing around a 25 in science and somehow ended with a 30.

lol science was freaky… I actually had a dream two days ago that I checked my scores and got a 31 on science and I was like “*** obvious dream is obvious”. I seriously thought that I got like a 24 on science. Then yesterday opened up my scores and actually did get a 31 on science. To think about it, my dream was actually really accurate as my English score was also spot on and my reading score was off by 1 and math off by like 3 lol… freaky

^actually that can probably be explained from you scrolling the respective test threads and checking your answers to those posted. You probably consciously formulated some rough estimate, which may have been translated through as a dream. Weird **** happens.

Eh, I got about what I expected, which is to say that I got a score of 27 which completely screwed my composite. But, I guess it could have been worse…who knows.

Yeah I’m thinking a lenient curve, I got a 34 too (as opposed to 28 the previous time lol)

I got a 20, first time taking the ACT and I had no idea the time limit would be so harsh haha, had to guess on over 1/2 of them

Glad i still have a year to improve >_<

The curve on the Science section is generally not too lenient. Often 1 incorrect Science question equates to 1 or 2 lost points on the Science section. Here’s a link to an ACT scoring chart from a couple of years ago: [ACT Score Chart - MindFish Blog - mindfish - online SAT prep for your busy schedule](http://www.mindfish.com/blogs/bill/archive/2010/11/10/act-score-chart.aspx)

This one is somewhat harsh, but is fairly typical of Science curves on the ACT. You can see that each missed question means two lower points at the very top of the curve.

^^^yea but were saying it was a way better curve then the norm

BillHuston, which test date was that conversion table specifically from? Do you know?

The harsh curve posted above is from the practice ACT test booklets you pick up at your school, etc. It’s one of the easier science sections.

-1 probably was 35 because I got a 35. unless it was -2…but that’s way too unlikely

I got a 31 on this one…I got a 32 last month. grrrr

Yes, the score chart I posted was from the ACT practice test that they widely distribute to schools, etc. It is somewhat harsher than some, but at the top of the Science scale, one wrong question usually translates into at least one less point on the Science section as a whole.

I’ve posted a couple more ACT Science score charts here: [More ACT Science Score Charts - MindFish Blog - mindfish - online SAT prep for your busy schedule](http://www.mindfish.com/blogs/bill/archive/2010/11/12/more-act-science-score-charts.aspx)

These are from two tests in 2009 and are somewhat more lenient than the one I posted previously.

^ I’m not sure about the table from April 09, but the one from June 09 is a little bit off. Getting a 37/40 on the Science Test gave you a 33 Scaled Score, not a 32. There was then a dash (-) for the 32 Scaled Score spot. Apart from that, it is precise.
