Hey so I was just wondering if anyone on here could tell me about the lesbian scene on campus. There are a lot of posts on here of straight people concerned that they won’t find other straight people or that there will be too many gay men (lol, I guess us gays are just too powerful), but I haven’t really seen any posts about the presence of queer women on campus. I was wondering if someone could tell me about the presence and visibility of lesbian/queer women on campus. Of course, like everyone on here, I kind of want to know about the dating scene/hookup culture, but I mostly just want to make sure that I will be able to find women like me who face the same challenges as me that I can relate to. It is hard enough to proudly be a queer woman, but it is even harder when you don’t see yourself represented.
Any feedback is helpful. Thanks!
My D was a good friend with a lesbian girl at Vassar. They were on the same floor during freshman year. I don’t know if this girl met her girlfriend on campus, but she had a (or more?) girlfriend during college. She was very well liked and social on campus.
I’m afraid I cannot tell the representation of lesbian women on campus but at least they were welcomed and as long as I know they were super duper open about it.
Good luck to you!
Thank you! That is helpful. I just want to make sure that I will feel comfortable.
If any current LGBTQ+ students see this, a quick response would mean a lot.
