Less beefy schedule

Hello all,
My last planned sophomore schedule for the 19-20 year was way too beefy and unrealistic so I toned things down a tad bit a few months back. It’s now a few days before the start of sophomore year. I just wanted some general advice on how to approach things and that would be really helpful.

Schedule:
AP Human Geo
AP Physics I
AP Seminar
AP Art History
Human Body Systems, PLTW
Honors Chem I
Precalc/Trig
French tutor ( I already did AP French as a freshman last year)

Thanks guys!

IMO for any discussion on schedule rigor the person to ask is your guidance counselor, not any one of us. Rigor is relative to what is offered in your HS. The top tier colleges will want to see the guidance counselor check the box on the recommendation saying you have taken the most rigorous course-load available at your HS (which doesn’t mean taking every AP class – there is often some latitude in this). If the guidance counselor says that your schedules is sufficient to get that most rigorous box checked then you are fine.

Will you have taken U.S History and World (or European) History by the time you graduate? These will be more important to have taken than AP Human Geo (much as the subject matter is interesting).

What do you mean by “how to approach things”?

Go to class, study, do your best.

I agree with taking US History or World history over AP Hum Geo. They are more apt to be needed for high school graduation and college acceptances. Are you taking AP Art History because you need an art? Why not do a hands on art class?

Tripling up in science seems to be overdoing it.
AP human geography is a good gateway for AP history courses, I assume you intend to tie APUSH junior year and AP euro/world senior year?
French tutor is a good addition - since you took the highest available French class freshman year, being a tutor keeps the Language on your schedule. You could try and see if there’s an upper intermediate/lower advanced class at a local college that you could take in the Spring.
