I saw that! Which supports what I’ve always felt intuitively, that Wesleyan is the sixth most selective member of NESCAC.

There are a ton of them. The USNWR list of LACs is a great place to start (I don’t put a ton of stock in the rankings, but it is a pretty comprehensive list of schools) and you can see which schools are attractive in terms of geography/admissions/course offerings etc. For full disclosure my D is at Lafayette and loves it. Some other schools might be: Colby, Bates, Haverford, Colgate, Franklin & Marshall, Skidmore, Dickinson, Muhlenberg, Trinity, Connecticut College. I have found that the LACs really have a personality so it is worth spending some time to find a few that are good fits for your D. Also as I’m sure you know, most LACs put some weight on demonstrated interest, so I’d choose a few schools and even if they are safetys be sure to show a level of interest (school visit, perhaps an alumni interview etc.).

I can vouch for Trinity and Conn College, DD visited, interviewed and applied to both schools.
Ironically, Trinity was her first interview, she wasn’t really interested in applying but felt it was worth the interview experience. We had no first hand knowledge of what the school had to offer. We were both quite impressed after the interview, info session & tour. Well worth looking into.

Conn College is another great school. With lots of unique, interesting offerings. Her interview at CC was her favorite.

As an aside, her Anatomy & Physiology class was held the Yale School of Medicine anatomy lab, a few of the med students were Trinity graduates, they each told her how they enjoyed their experience at Trinity.

Wesleyan just went test optional too.

But I have always wondered in admissions, is optional truly optional? I always felt that you should send your scores…I believe CC is test optional, DD sent all of hers(including ACT w/writing & SAT IIs) just to be on the safe side. What of you don’t send your scores and it doesn’t work out for you? I always felt uneasy about that.

Having no idea of your daughter’s interests I would suggest you look at Knox College in Illinois. It is a hidden gem that offers so many opportunities and “good” challenges to their students regardless of their major. I can’t say enough about how fantastic a school it is; if it was on the eastern seaboard it would be impossible to get into.
