Hope the UVa computers are ready for about 10,000 hits.
Good Luck Everyone.

Yep, quite excited but scared at the same time. Can not wait though!!!

We're ready. Just don't hammer the site at 5:15 thinking it'll be there. I'll have www.time.gov up and it won't happen early.

Dean J,
Does it usually take until 5:30 to get ready and you're just done early this year? Is there a reason you do it at 5:30? It seems a little cruel to make everyone wait an extra half hour...

We've switched the time each time. Every year, ED and RD, we get complaints about the time. Too early and people are mad because students are finding out at school. Too late and, well, it's too late.

We picked 5:30, figuring that on the west coast, most students would be heading right now after school since it's a Friday and they wouldn't find out in front of their friends.

I never got an email telling me how to see my decision. Will it just be in the "check the status of your application" section in the online application page?

how do you find out again?

what's the link?

"We picked 5:30, figuring that on the west coast, most students would be heading right now after school since it's a Friday and they wouldn't find out in front of their friends."

But what's wrong about finding out in front of your friends? I think it would put more people at ease to find out in front of their friends. If you get accepted you have someone to celebrate with, if you get rejected at least you have someone to comfort you.

We've been getting calls all day about this. Yes, you can see the status of your application on the status page. :)

can you still check even if you didnt do the online app??

No you had to have applied online to receive it online.

No - you can only get your decision online if you submitted an online application. If you mailed your application, you will have to wait for the snail mail to get your decision. They were mailed today.

Not everyone feels this way.

I think it must be a rough position to be in. No matter what time you choose, I guess someone will be unhappy. Yea, I would be frustrated if I were on the west coast and my decision came out while I was in school.
In the meantime, someone in cursing really loudly outside of my room (near Newcomb)...?

Dean J, who will have the honor of releasing decisions this yr?

^^^Very true. I would NOT want to find out in front of my friends, simply because if I were to get rejected I would not wish for them to see my reaction. Most of my friends feel this way as well.

But, you know, they could exercise a little self control and WAIT until they got home to check their decision......what's a few more minutes?!? hahaha
