Less than 3.0

Anyone just going to apply to any UCs or CSUs with a gpa that WILL be less than a 3.0 by the end of this fall? I might:

Major: phil
GPA: 2.8

Who else?

I’ll apply for UCSD this Fall. I have 2.96 right now.

losers…10char

hahahaha totally uncalled for^ but a definite lol.

Haha what losers, what kind of nerd would have other priorities besides school? A loser nerd, that’s who! You guys hit the nail on the head there. Keep up the great comments.

it never hurts to try. With a GPA that low you might only be admited to some of the lower UCs like merced and UCSC though.

Thanks, beyphy. I’m not expecting much but maybe something.
To everyone else, there are things that happen in life, like **** okay.

Worth your while applying w/out TAG to some UCs imo if you have a decent application.

you could apply to UCR, UCD, UCM and hopefully UCI and UCSC.

I’ve been around this site for a while. I’ve seen lower GPA’s admitted to better schools than those listed here. The UC’s will see these final fall grades. With 3.0+'s you guys will get in to at least a couple of the UC’s.

“you could apply to UCR, UCD, UCM and hopefully UCI and UCSC.”

Don’t apply to UCD or UCI. Their cut off last year was at a 3.0 and this year that GPA will only increase if anything; thats literally giving your money away. Apply to UC’s like UCSC, UCM, and UCR.

As for CSU’s, don’t apply to SDSU, CSULB, SLO, and CPP. *** Look at CSU Mentor before applying for impacted majors - that too is literally giving away your money unless you have a high (3.7ish) GPA ***

Every other CSU is probably fair game and would have a legit chance of getting into.

If you have financial aid, you can do about 4 application for free.

Ignore the mostly crap posts above. $60 per campus is a small price to pay for an opportunity to get into a school that isn’t UCR/UCM. Your chances aren’t great with a 2.96, but they aren’t totally unrealistic either.

Good luck!

^ I’d argue that but ok. Thats their crappy situation not mine. Life happens, but so what? We all have our problems and obstacles but those who have that burning desire to succeed and that conviction in their heart that they will, keep their priorities straight and their **** together. Plus you will have obstacles to overcome there too. So I really don’t feel bad for you. Go to Cal State Dominguez

not true applied with a 2.5 as poli sci major got into ucr, ucsc, sdsu, and csun. dont let anyone tell you that you dont have a shot.

Also, it is depends on your major as well. How impacted your major in the schools that you are apply to.

Im sickened by the immaturity of a COLLEGE board. Some people who post here act like they are 12 years old. Anyways to op, you should just apply and see what happens there is always a chance. 2.8 isnt horrid, just go for it.
