<p>Oh really? I was also admitted as general curriculum during my freshman year, but I transferred to engineering. Was UIUC your first choice?</p>

<p>UIUC business is far better than Depaul I would say, but if you go with UIUC, you have a chance of never being able to major in business. If you think you can get into COB, I would go with UIUC. I was also choosing between Wisc Madison(engr) and UIUC(undecided), and I went with UIUC.</p>

<p>I had around 3.45 when I was admitted to Engr/CS. I heard business transfer is really competitive though. You need about 3.6+ to transfer into business. However, engineering courses tend to be significantly harder, so I guess the difficulty of transferring is about the same.</p>

<p>I got in (within 5 seconds of 6:00PM, actually) but I would consider myself quite lucky. Remember that it probably isn't easy to update a database of 25000 entries in just a minute or two! Some kids in the UF forum were saying it took them almost two hours to find out whether they got in.</p>
