@Trueblackberry I don’t feel comfortable sharing this kind of detail - this is college confidential, after all - and there are barely any applicants where I’m from, which would expose me in case admission officers decided to search this forum.
@bean035 Alongside my offer I also got one of the entrance scholarships (such that you don’t apply for), but it is nowhere near enough to go to U of T anyway so I’m waiting for Pearson to come in.

I asked the LBP scholarship office about the decision release date. This is what they told me:
“We are currently making our final deliberations on the recipients for this year. All nominees will be notified by email of our decisions at the end of April, if not sooner.”

Wow, that’s kinda late.
I got the same answer. It’s just a general answer, I guess because it’s a rolling process and they can’t give us a specific date.
Because I think they tell you early/mid April first and then tell you to keep it confidential and wait for you to accept/decline the scholarship and offer at uoft. Because I know last year, someone that was nominated was also waiting for an ivy response, and that if they got the ivy, they wouldn’t go to UofT even with the scholarship.
So I guess first they will personally email you sometime soon and once you respond, then they make it official and announce all the scholars at the end of April… that’s what I think
The email sounds reassuring, nonetheless. I’d imagine that given a number of applications they will come back to recipients within a week or so. Anyway guys, the waiting ordeal is almost over!
It’s not fair that they don’t say anything to those who were not selected. They should be notified too so that they can move on.
trueee tbh i wish they’d tell us if we didn’t get it bc im waiting till the end of april… if I don’t hear from the scholarship, i’m confirming another uni.
Hi, I’m an IB student who’s Korean but is attending a high school in Beijing. I’m just glad that I can discuss with other people who have applied for the same scholarship program as me.
At the end of April… that’s quite late… I’m impatient!
@lime666 i know right??! I’m extremely worried. Plus apparently they are trying to be diverse with the countries… Only one or two students from each competitive country
Hey everyone I have been following this conversation for some time now but this is going to be my first comment. If anyone hears that they (or a friend) has been notified about the Pearson scholarship please say something on this forum so that others can lower their expectations (waiting is the worst part) and can move on. I was notified as a Pearson Scholar yesterday evening – although I’m refusing it because I got into an Ivy. So that’s one more spot for you guys! Good luck.

I have applied to the same scholarship.
I’m from Egypt.
I have applied to the university and the scholarship but I didn’t receive any reply about whether I’m accepted to the University or not.
As many of you I didn’t have any extracurricular activities
I went through the IGCSE and the IAL along with the high school certificate of the country I live in, Bahrain.
Even though I didn’t meet the requirements with my IAL, but I applied with both my IAL and my my secondary high school certificate believing in the chance that its possible for me to get this scholarship.
Since we entered April and the waiting has been killing me as I didn’t receive any thing from the UofT and I’m dead worried
I hope I hear more reassuring comments on the scholarship and good luck for you all!!
