I was wondering which school you guys would recommend for me, and what would be reaches, safeties, and matches. I am just getting an idea of what level I am and where I should apply to, so I am open to many colleges. Honesty is welcomed!

First, my stats:
- Un-weighted GPA of 3.98
-Currently UC GPA of 4.2, and end of junior year expected to be at 4.3 with just APs, or a 4.4 with honors classes and APs.
-Taken AP Biology, AP Physics, and AP US History.
-Next year (senior year) I plan to take AP Chemistry, AP Composition, AP Stats, AP Environmental Science and CC Calculus 1 and 2.
-My UC rank is 5/615 and my non-UC rank is 10/615.
-Got a 2070 on the New SATs.
-Taking SAT2s in May. Planning on receiving 750+ in Math 2c and Biology and 700+ in Physics.

**Side Note Note sure if this would affect admissions Let me know .
-I attend part time-Center for Advanced Research and Technology (CART) -Charter school: chosen as 1 of 7 schools as Microsofts Center of Excellence, where I take the Bio-Medicine Lab.

EC's.
-Been in CSF since 9th grade. (Trying to attain VP of CSF)
- In Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) since 10th grade. ( I'm VP)
Placed 7th in section, and competed in state.
- Math team (11th)
-Member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
-Part of my school's AAA(Tutoring club). Through this I have 50hrs and planning on getting more senior year.
-Part of local church group. (9th-11th)
-Work part time at a local restaurant where I work 20hrs a week.
-Varsity tennis since 11th grade.
-Played 18 & Under AA hockey my 9th and 10th grade year.
-Recently accepted into the UCSF Biomedical Research Internship (all free) for the summer of my junior year. Through this I will receive 180-240hrs of hospital volunteer service.

Colleges:
Major: (Pre-Med) Most likely Neuroscience or either Biology, Bio/Chem, or Human Biology.

If you are willing to go as far as the east coast:
University of Michigan
Duke
Johns Hopkins
Amherst
Washington Univ in St. Louis

They are all excellent schools in Biology/Pre-med and have great med school placement. I also know that Johns Hopkins has one of the top Neuroscience majors in the nation.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with CART so I can't really help you much there. But if it's a very exclusive program and you were selected for it then it will have its merit. I would say all of the schools I listed are matches, except Duke might be just a slight reach. Although it might matter little, you may want to retake your SAT's and bring those up just a tad and you will be a very competitive applicant.

Yes CART is a selective program, you have to apply for it, and they only select a limited number.

Through my Bio-Medicine Lab I've been able to watch two open heart surgeries and a brain surgery, and was able to job shadow a doctor around for about a month.

You may have not heard of CART, because it has only been around for 7 years, but it is beginning to obtain national recognition.

Then you really have some good things going for you on your list of EC's. But on your application and essays don't focus just on your research/work...you might just bore them to death. It's better to spice up your application with a clever essay or something they've never heard before - it can really make the difference if that's what you're worried about.

Would it be ok if I talked about my experiences with surgeries? Or is that too much research related?

Another idea I was thinking about was taking about how my younger brother was diagnosed with epilepsy, and how that fueled my passion for neuroscience/medical field.

Your second idea is an excellent. It shows you're inspired, caring, and really have a passion to help others in need. The first idea...not so much since admissions really wants to know how you became interested in it and why you enjoy what you're doing. The second topic is much more touching - it think its a great idea.

Duke, Hopkins, Stanford all have great pre-med programs. Might look at some liberal arts schools for safeties like Colgate or Holy Cross. Holy Cross has very good placement level into med schools.
