I was happy to see Tulane win. USC better prepare themselves.
Bowl games are often pitting one team excited to be there against an opponent that is not. Is USC going to be up for this game? They’d better be if they want to get the W.
You mean like UT going down I-35 to the Alamo Bowl … again!!! lol We should just rename it the UT and Whoever Bowl.
Can I use this thread to rag on the Heisman finalists?
Four QBs? It’s really not about the best FOOTBALL player.
I thought Blake Corum of Michigan would be there but for his injury.
Last year, at least Michigan’s DE Aidan Hutchinson was invited and finished 2nd IIRC.
But yes, QB’s always have the upper hand.
Go for it!
I have to give kudos to UGA’s Stetson Bennett though. I admit I was not a fan most of last year, but to go from a walk-on to Heisman finalist is quite an accomplishment. However, I don’t think his fairytale story will win him the Heisman… his stats aren’t the best of the lot and playing for such a strong overall team may work against him.
He is the one I think least deserves to be there.
Any running backs or dbs you think deserving?
I’m prejudiced, but I love Bijan Robinson, who is a finalist for the Doak Walker Award.
Robinson rushed for 1,508 yards, fifth-most in the country among FBS players, and totaled 20 touchdowns, second-most in FBS. He also had more than 300 yards receiving. Feels like one of those things where if UT had a better record he’d be in contention.
A few quotes from a guest essay in the NY Times today:
Lol!
Pray for the victors valiant
Pray for the conquering heroes
Pray! Pray! for Michigan, the leaders and best.
He won!!!
I’m sure there are others, but everyone I know who roots for Michigan is an alumni or related to one (like my kids.) At least as many people got to UM as MSU, so there’s tons of us alumni.
But everyone else is welcome, too!
We were there too and it was crazy fun! My D19 is on a spirit squad and cannot wait to perform at AT&T Stadium on January 2nd!
Hook 'em!
Heisman talk…
Who do you wish to win?
Who do you think actually will win?
Who was overlooked as a finalist? (AKA whose spot did Stetson take? lol)
This guy. Caleb Williams.
As mentioned above, Texas RB Bijan Robinson, who last night won the Doak Walker. The QB isn’t always the most impactful player on the field.
Just for clarification, the Doak Walker Award is given to the nation’s best RB.
However, what they should have done is just honor the Michigan RB position, since Michigan is in the CFP Semifinal because of Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards getting 150-200 yards/game.
