Let some Bio Majors Chime in on their UCLA decision!

ive heard absolutely nothing about bio majors with UCLA, anybody?

Im a Bio major, pretty bad GPA id say though(3.2)
and that URSA theory has not been fulfilled by me, so looks like a surefire rejection headed my way.

Anywho, lets hear about other bio majors.

My gf got accepted into UCLA Bio with 3.7x GPA. Missing some pre-reqs. Works at a pharmacy.

My friend got rejected by UCLA Bio with 3.79 GPA. Missing some pre-reqs.

Rejected Bio major here.

What's your stats pooper?

Age: 24 years old
Current College: CSU
GPA: 3.96 (at the time of update)
Major: Bio, Pre-Med
Applied To: UCLA (Regents invite), UCB (FA verification letter)
Accepted To: Nowhere
Pre-req's: completed by the end of Spring.
EC's: Volunteer at RotaCare Bay Area, father of a 4 year-old, business owner, previous software and contracting experience, other stuff.

My friend was accepted at UCLA as a bio-chem major with a 3.2 GPA; though, he does have a substantial amount of interning and relevant job experience.

If I could change one thing on my application to UCLA, it would be my major. I applied to Biology, which has a 30% admittance ratio for ccc students, and probably translates to much less for four-year and oos students. In retrospect, I should have applied to Immunology, which has something like a 50% ratio, although I didn't have this information at that time.

pooperscooper you're highly qualified it doesn't make sense that you were rejected... what is wrong with the UC system this year.

ill tell you whats wrong chang, he applied in the year where all those brilliant people from high school with way above 4.0s got rejected from UCLA aka 2006 high school grads, too much competition, those people(including me) have just finished their stint at a CC. Which leads to massive amounts of competition.
Although pooper may have gotten tufted.

Today during my Bio class, i found out that practically the entire class got accepted to UCLA( theres like 50 people in the class, 2 rejections in that class, im still pending along with 2 other people in that class) ranging from GPAs of 3.3 to 3.96, this happens to be at Glendale Community College, if anyone wanted to know.

We'll see what they have to say tomorrow. I tried calling them today, but after holding for 30 minutes, I had to go take a midterm. It seems that a lot of people didn't like what they saw. Will they see me as just another caller complaining? Probably.
