the rest is fluff.
oh and DEFINITELY send the 35.
most schools don't require SATII's if you send the ACT, so that means you don't need to retake those.

i think your only real weakness is your lack of meaningful EC's. you do a lot of volunteer work. woopty doo. but what are you passionate about?

Should I apply to low reach colleges? What are the chances to get accepted in one of them?
Any suggestions for safeties?
How can I improve my EC's?

it's too late to improve your EC's. anything you change now will just look like ur trying to pad your resume.
for safeties, look at the large public schools in your state. you'll get plenty or merit money with a 35. most 50-75 ranked schools.
i think your odds at Penn, NYU, Georgetown, Northwestern, JHU, and CMU are about the same. i'd apply to the top 3 that you're really interested in. i'm not sure how many of those have supplements but that could be a lot of essays. 1 or 2 safeties, 3-5 matches, and 2-3 reaches is what i'm doing.

I dont see why people are tellling you to add 3-4 safeties. Do you really think you will get rejected by 2-3 of them? They are supposed to be safe. Id say add 1, maybe 2 safeties and idk why u would need to eliminate any reaches. The more reaches u apply to the beter chance u have of getting into one. Also, Vandy is not a reach with a 35 composite. Yale is not an "uber reach" just a reach (as it is for everyone). Also dont c y token89 said brown is a reach and cornell, upenn, northwestern are low reaches. Also, token89 those ec's are good and it is obvious that she is passionate about writing with the essay contests and magazines. Also shows a lot of interest in science. U r a strong applicant and will be competitive everywhere you apply, good luck.

If you are rejected by Yale, you're probably going to be rejected by Harvard and Princeton. You don't actually increase your odds by applying to all of them.

What are your safeties?

Also most of your awards are in writing, but your interests are in Health, Human Biology and Society. You need to focus your ECs to support your goals in college.

my safety is rutgers. i only have one because im pretty sure ill get since it is a state school. and as patsandheels said, im not sure why i should have 3-4 safties.should i have more than one?

2 or 3 safeties. Not because you won't get in (although that's a consideration you have to take into account sometimes.) It's just a good idea in general. Maybe you might find at open house that you don't like a certain school, or maybe you won't get the financial aid you want. Etc.

Another possibility is that, while you will probably get into at least a couple on your list, applying for some respected safeties may give you a good shot at an academic scholarship and honors programs, which is always nice and worth weighing in itself.

Probably. That means, if you're rejected from Y, you still have a shot at H and P, and especially S--you never know what they're looking for to "diversify" their student body.
