I've been accepted into the University of New Haven's Outstanding High School Senior Program...pretty much i drop my high school classes for 2nd semester, and take classes at UNH..

I've taken the most demanding courses my high school has, as well as several independent study courses..

i don't know if im missing anything, let me know if i am..

ok, so ive already applied to:
UCONN EA
CUNY Honors College (#1 chioce, wasn't sure then, thats why i didnt do ED)

planning to apply to:
NYU
BC
Cornell
Johns Hopkins
Trinity College
Tufts
Maybe Yale (I've made several connections over the years, otherwise i wouldnt consider it)

I know i have high hopes, but i already got in at UConn, and i would be satisfied going there, so thats why im gonna give it a shot..

1300 will not get you into any of the schools on your list, I promise you.

dude, dont lose hope. my friend got into mit with 1800 on sat1 and 680 on physics.

take a look at the schools on fairtest.org - its a list of schools that dont require the SAT-1, which is your weak point on an overall great applicant package.

thanks for the posts, i appreciate the honesty..

even trinity college? they have a range from 1200-1400, which im in..

im also considering applying to wesleyn, ive had a few tours there, and liked it, but i was discouraged by my SAT score..but i know an admissions officer there who used to be an RA at the scholar program, she told me to apply..so i guess ill apply anyways..

but my number one chioce after CUNY is NYU..do i have any sort of a shot for them?

bump........

Admissions officers will always tell you to apply, regardless of your academic ability, because it increases their amount of applicants and potentially, their yield, which makes the school look more appealing.

you stand a chance at Tufts, but it might be a slight reach. YOu might want to add some safety schools. Don't know anything about Trinity, but if that is there SAT range, looks like a match. The others are reaches.

^ i considered applying to more safties, but i got $6500 at UCONN, and tuition is only $8000...i also applied for a scholarship for them, which i have a decent shot at, that would cover full tuition and room and board..

id thought about it, and out of the schools i know i can DEF. get into, UCONN is the best, and i actually wouldn't mind going there...

EDIT: change in my list:
NYU
BC
Cornell
Tufts
University of Chicago
Brown (dream school)

im gonna give it a shot, i just wanted to know where i actually stand a chance..

bump.......

You might have a shot at NYU and maybe one at BC. The others are reaches.

REJECTED cornell, NYU

i don't know why people are talking about having vman apply to colleges that don't require SAT I..

your SAT score isn't bad, really.. i think you might be below the avg sat score for most of those schools.. but that sat score won't immediately take you out of the running. perhaps you have really great essays/recs/hooks you can emphasize. also, try to add a few more safeties to your list because you have some reaches already.

good luck!

yeah, I totally agree with applicant2006, I think we are starting to see more juniors who really do not know what they are talking about and other seniors who are just giving random appraisals.
