<p>Yeah there was a shooting. The shooter was caught we all got a text on our phones. This isn't VTech and thankfully nothing tragic happened because of the heroic UCPD. </p>

<p>But let's put things into perspective: a US soldier was killed in Iraq today and no one gave a sh1t, no helicopters flying over his house, no front page Yahoo story, no CNN coverage...nothing. Almost 5,000 Americans have died in Iraq and Afghanistan and Kim Kardashian's wedding, the NBA lockout, or Herman Cain's newest gaffe takes precedence. Let's get real guys and calm the hell down.</p>

<p>EDIT: In all seriousness, though, you know how it is. If it doesn’t happen close enough to us or if it’s not gonna generate enough gasps!, then it’s not gonna get media attention. If it doesn’t get media attention, no one cares about it. Not saying that that’s right, though, it’s just how it tends to be. But hey, college shooting are pretty freaky, even though no one got killed/hurt</p>

<p>I like how we praise the UCPD for this but the rest of the student body hates them for beating that little Asian girl and others.</p>
