<p>Oh, and there's a requirement that all undergrads can swim a certain distance in order to graduate (not sure if that's a myth but our tour guide threw it out).</p>

<p>It's true. It's really easy though, and most people get it over with when they go on their DOC trip.</p>

<p>They were also one of the last (if not THE last) Ivy League schools to admit women. My interviewer (a woman by the way) pointed this out. </p>

<p>Journo, though we were the last to admit women, we were the first Ivy League institution to establish a Women Studies program in 1978, a mere four years the induction of women, it is now the Women and Gender studies program. We currently offer over 40 Women and Gender studies and affiliated courses with over 80 Dartmouth faculty members involved in the program.</p>

<p>Tri-kap (Kappa Kappa Kappa) is a frat at Dartmouth with many minorities (Its the urban hip hop house with a ton of asians, indians, african americans, hispanics, etc). They refuse to change their name since they pre-date the KKK.</p>
