Let's be honest... (Cornell + ACTS)

It's hard to tell (for me, anyway) just how good an ACT score is on the Cornell scale.
At first glance, mine is pretty respectable (97th percentile)
but in actuality, it is just a 31.

Anyone want to enlighten me on what Cornell is looking for? Is this a reach, or what?

:) thanks

I really don’t think an ACT or SAT score will be a major deciding factor in admissions…much attention is invested in your interest in the school to which you apply, your EC’s, your essays, your background….etc. so, to rely solely on a test score is highly marred! I think you have a reasonable test score, but scores will not do it alone! GL!!! ;}

I think your ACT score is fine. The middle 50th percentile for Cornell ACT is 28-32..so you're well within that range. Just make sure everything else is great too, and you'll stand a chance!

I scored a 30 on my ACTs and was accepted ED if that makes you feel any better.

Thanks guys! :)

MikeyC765: Congrats!!
