All of those who were accepted, can we discuss our financial aid packages? Primarily, how much does BU cost? They should have told us what the EFC was, instead of just telling us the award. My award is pretty high but if you substract it from $40000 (or more, as the tuition and everything else have probably gone up), that’s still a lot of money for my family to pay.

My EFC was only $4122 and BU only gave me $3125 all in loans which I need to pay back! THIS IS SOOOO NOT COOL!!! I couldn't go to BU even if I wanted to with the money that they're giving me!

my efc was $7000 and they only gave me loans too. i'm irritated as well.

definitely not going.

yeah, how much is it overall?

well, i basically got a full ride, 4k in loans, 38k in grants and scholarship money :-)

I got 1/2 tuition merit-based, and 2,600 in loans.

I got the university scholarship and several grants, but it is still going to cost me about $20,000.

i got the dean's scholarship (10k) plus a loan so it comes to $12,625. still expensive but any money helps i guess.

I got 32 K a year as merit money -but it will still be very expensive for me

I got around $26000 in grants and university scholarship and then $4000 in loans. but $12000 is still a lot for my parents to pay.

$16K University Scholarship and about $2K in loans...so we would still need to pay $22K per year. Could be worse.

ABSOLUTELY NO SCHOLARSHIPS.... and a $2625 Stafford loan. Screw them. I want to be able to go to law school without owing an absurd amount of money.

I don't know what my EFC was (we had a financial planner do ours). But I got $31,025 in grants (only $5,000 loans) and my twin bro got $38,625 (about $6,500 in loans). So we are very, very happy!

parasitelin, what were you stats. I was accepted ED, and i also got only the stafford loan. I was so upset by some of the stats of kids that received Deans's scholarships, that I actually called admissions today. Seems that there is some financial need involved. I worked my a-- of in hs, and I think merit should be merit!!!!!

for you guys that got massive scholarship money, what were your credentials?

I don't know if 16K a year is massive, but I had a 1520 SAT, 3.8 UW GPA, 790/720/720 SAT IIs, and a legacy (grandmother).

lilly - merit is merit. my FAFSA wasnt complete and i still got some luckily.

ranisparkle- merit is not just merit!!! Legacy is also involved. I do not want to refer you to a specific post because I am happy for this person, but please wake up!

im just saying that you can get merit without anything. my fafsa didnt make it into their records and i still got the university scholarship and im asian and i have no legacy. im not saying it isnt a factor sometimes.. but there are plenty of examples where it is not a factor remotely.

I know what you are saying, and I see it in the University scholarship and Trustee. But the Dean's scholarship is something else. I'm happy for everyone who received them, but the stats are weird. I called admissions in december because I was accepted ED, and my stats met the average. They said the stats went up. I accepted that, and today I see people who have received that who have stats lower than mine, no financial need, and maybe a legacy. I also called them today. I'm kind of ****ed, because I threw all my apples into this basket, and admissions actually lied to me.

yeah. actually, i dont really know about any other scholarships... or mine...haha...i just clicked the button.
