Let's Figure out the Curve...

wow that math is killller

well on the june SAT i got 2 wrong 1 omit and ended up w/ a 720.

Lets hope the November curve is generous :)

Oh yes pleaaase. Like 15 wrong on CR is still 700+.

I disagree with everybody saying October has the harshest curve. The only difference in my raw score was my essay went from 9 to 10 from May to October and yet my score improved from a 2230 to a 2260 (+10 in CR and +20 in W. 800 in M both times.)

that's because the math curve was the harshest.

You must have got none wrong.

M: 800 790 760 740 720

CR: 800 800 800 790 770 760 ...?

W: I don't the system......

CR : 2 wrong, 0 omit, 800
M: 1 wrong, 1 omit, 760. Harsh.

My friend got 3 wrong writting and 8 essay for... 690... ouch. In may test she got 6 wrong and 8 essay for 690.. WOW....

I got 8 wrong and 9 essay for 640... =/

ln17: Here is my essay. You should notice that I blatantly made things up, proving yet again that collegeboard doesn't care about the content- just put 5 paragraphs with 3 supports and you've got a 12.

^^Fixed

lol deity your handwriting is funny - it shifts leaning over to the left and then leans over the right..thought i'd point that out ;-)

Dude...your handwriting is crazy!!!!

If they did one of those analysis things, they would be like:

"Umm...uhhh....You probably aren't anything."

Haha I know. I'm suprised the grader even gave it a score. I would have just thrown it out.

Ok so if i would have guessed on the one CR i omitted and got it right i would have had an 800, thats why I never omit!

According to collegeboard my writing skills have gone down 130 pts since March yet my M and CR have gone up 200????

dude ur handwriting is crazyyyyyyyyy

i cant even make that out; its like im reading trash
if it was me, i wouldve burned the paper on fire.

6 wrong for math = 690
7 wrong for critical reading = 700
2 wrong , 0 omit , 11 essay =770 writing.

since when is the essay out of 11, i thought it was out of 6??

someone said "Math: 4 wrong, 1 omit = 700"

I took it in june, 4 wrong, no omit, and got a 690.

your curve definitely isn't harsher, kids.

vrumchev - They have two readers assess each essay. Each reader gives it a holistic score out of 6. If they differ by 0 or 1 (like 5 and 6 or 4 and 4), they add up the two scores (11 or 8, respectively) that are out of 12 (6 x 2) points.

If the scores differ by more than one point (4 and 6 or 2 and 5), they consult a third reader.

daaamn i wish i took my test in october and not june, with your guys curve, my score would have gone up at LEAST 30 points.

i had 2 wrong cr = 790, unlike the above guy who got 800.
my 4 wrong in math took me to 690, while someone above got 4 wrong AND omitted one and got a 710.

my essay was of the same caliber as the above kid, but I got an 8 on it. Considering the 8, my 710 for writing I guess wasn't that harsh of a curve, cause I also missed 2 multiple choice, but missing 2 multiple choice took me to a 74/80.

So anybody who is complaining about a harsh curve...get over it. seriously.
