Lets get excited!!!!!!

decisions for ed 2 are so close...lets get to know each other....we may be class mates next year. I am soooooo freakin' pumped. I cant even imagine being denied, i am incredibly nervous. I hope they gave a kansas girl a shot!!!!

Hi kristinabrown1,

My name’s Melissa and I’m from Singapore. I’m so pumped, too! All this while I’ve been Smith stalking, and dreaming about life in NoHo, and checking my email compulsively for updates.

I don’t have the best class ranking, I’m above average but not in the top 20%. I hope they give me a shot, I really did leave my heart and my Self on the essay.

i hear you!!!..i am sooooo nervous…i dont know what i will do if this friday doesnt go as planned. you sound like you really want it…My grades are meh…but i feel like extra-curriculars should help, i just dont have any idea…let me know!!!

my low point is probably my SAT’s, especially the subject tests (which i never intended to send, stupid collegeboard). & my interview, I’m just not sure of, I had so much I wanted to say but I was so nervous I forgot everything. I mean, I love that Smith tries to treat each applicant as a person and not a statistical profile, but in a way it makes me even more nervous !

my low point is definantly my test scores…im glad smith doesnt consider them very much

Hi ladies,
I’m Smith Class of 2014 and a HONS this year. Hearing you all talk about your “low” test scores and GPA, I feel for you. I just want to say though that I was at the 25th percentile in my HS class and am in the top 10%–not sure exactly where, at Smith. Beyond just patting myself on the back, this is to encourage you to be hopeful both about your prospects for admission and for success should that offer be extended. More than once, I have heard about Smith seeing potential in someone and being proved right. My favorite example of this is that on class president for the last two years was offered a spot off the waitlist and is an EXCELLENT leader. So good luck and be excited
Smithie love,
Lili

thank u for that…i am sooo nervous but also super excited. i want to be a smithie sooooo bad.
what are some quirky things about smith that we might not have known. I mean what are some of the weird things that make it that much more awesome

Hey!
So some quirky things about Smith

1) We have a vegan dining hall and a different gluten free one.We also have an Asian one. Also, “breakfast for dinner” is served at least once a week. Also, need more than a Smoothie, but less than a sundae? Mudslide in the campus center, just saying.

2) We have a new Quittidch (sp sorry!!) Team on campus…they are wonderful people. If you don’t wanna play, sign up to be a snitch!

3) The Sophia Smith Archives are the largest collection of primary source women’s history in North America, and all students, with an extremely easy registration, are open to all students. Definitely worth the visit!

4) You would not be the first person to minor in Study of Women and Gender so that you could say you minor in SWAG.

5) You’ve heard it before but it really is true, Smith professors are WONDERFUL! They will help you achieve your goals intellectually. They will do what they can to support you personally. I once had a Prof offer me rainboots. Let me know if you want the story.

6) Soup, Salad and Soul is held every week in the basement of the chapel. It is free homemade lunch and good conversation led by the truly lovely Dean Walters. Open to all faiths, atheists and agnostics. Sometimes the students lead too. There is also complementary Zen Buddhist meditation in that same location on Weds night!

Hope this is a nice list!

lol of course we want to here the story
