<p>I'll make this short and sweet:</p>

<p>I'm applying to UVA in Fall '07, for the engineering school</p>

<p>current university: VT engineering
In-state
Female
GPA - 3.2, im almost sure...unless i mess up finals, OR i get 100s, both of which wont happen..so 3.2, MAYBE 3.3
HS GPA - 3.63 (8 APs total though, plus Honors everything...took the hardest schedule possible, every year, minus an AP elective junior year)
SAT - 1380
First-generation
great ECs, but its mostly the common team captain, two club leadership posisitons, active community service, girl scout, tutor at local elem. school, ect
my recs from my high school counseler/teacher should be great because they both loved me and know how muhc i want to get into UVA
recs from professors is another story, i have all 100+ classes, but my engineering professor is going to write one, and i might have to find a teacher next semester to write me one, otherwise i have to use my engineering TA
essays will be above-average...there a reason i want to transfer is because i love/am great at english, and i plan on spending 4 weeks of WB perfecting them</p>

<p>so, that 3.2 sucks, i might have a C in chem, my HS GPA isnt stellar (it dropped because i got C+ every year in languages...i HATE spanish), but im instate, female, and plus, its engineering, UVA's average is a 3.01, so im still "above-average" =P</p>

<p>so..thoughts?</p>

<p>how am i above average when the average HS frosh admission is like a 3.9? I know my SATs are on the high side of average (my math is a 720, which is in the top 25%), but my college GPA is not even a B+ =( but engineering is ridiculous, and i think they know that, but i got the jist that they want a 3.5 (atleast for CAS)
so hey, you have above av. for CAS! but you're OOS, which might hurt you...write killer essays =P</p>
