So, I love Yale. It's my dream school. It's gotten to a point to where I stalk it. I'm applying to SCEA no matter what but... do I really have a chance?

Looking and English or Art History as a major.
GPA 4.54 weighted (of 5) 3.86 unweighted

Ranking is up in the air right now, lets say about #10

ACT Composite 30
But my highest sections are as follows:
English 28
Math 32
Reading 30
Science 32

I will have taken/taking the AP classes:
Art History (self studied) 4
Calc AB 3
Calc BC
English Lang 5
English Lit
European History 4
Latin
Micro Econ
Macro Econ
Physics B 3
Physics C
Psych 5
Studio Art
US Gov
US History 4

Doing Comparative Gov and Human Geo test this year for funsies.

I can get great essays. I have good essays about stuff I really am passionate about. I do comunnity service. I do alot of extra curriculars. I have leadership positions.

Low ACT scores are what scare me. As well as the 3 on Physics and Calc.
I know that EVERYONE has a low chance of getting in, but are mine... substantially lower?

These are students that will likely be accepted by other highly selective schools in the RD round if they choose to apply. Accepting them EA gives Y a few more months to win them over and get them to matriculate.

Do you think you’re this level of candidate?

The middle 50% ACT range for entering freshmen (these are 2010 numbers, I believe) was 32-35. At this point, unless you have a hook you haven’t mentioned, Yale is probably an unrealistic reach.

No one her actually knows if you’ll get admitted or denied. Take your chances. Retake tests if you’re worried…as long as you don’t take test more than 3 times…most colleges seem to frown on that.

DS had a little bit better stats and was deferred ED, then denied. Does that mean the same for you ? No.
