Let's get to know each other + help future applicants

From the people listed here.. who is going for sure?

Churchmusicmom's d!

Hehe :) I know that she's going!
Oh.. is she on myspace by any chance?

I don't think so. She has "signed in" at the "get to know your future classmates" site that Barnard hosts...and done some im'ing of people she's met there. Also the Barnard 09 (and soon ) the Columbia 09 live journal communities. She is still pretty busy with school (AP exams start next week), though, so computer time is limited.

I really look forward to meeting you in August. We must arrange that, okay?

Yes definitely!! That would be great!
My parents will be there too.

I am also starting my IB exams on friday.. so I shouldn't really be on this lol.
I still don't know your D's name. But tell her to join the myspace group when she has time!
I can't wait to meet her!

This is mostly for primefactor just cos she seems to know everything and I've read a lot of the amazing posts. I applied to Barnard as a freshman and got waitlisted and I'm applying as a transfer for Fall '05. I've been reading this message board and these girls come off as geniuses! My stats are no where near those levels, I'm not kidding. So now I'm not only worried I won't get in, but I'm worried that if I do I'll constantly get B-'s and feel way out of depth. Is there any insight you could give me, you seem to know so much and have given a lot of great info. Thanks so much!

Wait.. blueangel14.. so where are you now? Are you in HS or college?
I think you'll be fine.. you'll be able to do Barnard's work!

I'm a freshman at college, just finishing my first year. But from looking at everyone's stats, on paper I don't think I'll get in as a transfer.

Hmm.. never say never!

I guess. Someone once said it's all a crapshoot anyway! It would suck to get rejected from barnard twice though! I just wish I could find out sooner, transfer don't hear until May 15th!! I got accepted to NYU but I can't afford to go there (even though everyone is saying how high my aid package is for NYU, it's still not good for me!). Plus, the more I read on this site, the more I like the sound of Barnard. It sounds like all the women are actually happy and proud to be at Barnard, the professors sound accessible, I like the campus... Just a few niggles I'm still worried about, should I get in.

I hope you get in! Good luck!

Thanks so much, JL618! Congrats on getting in!
