Bumping to allow theend to reread thread...Hope it helps man

I agree as well...i can just imagine classmates coming back in a few years saying "yeah...the course rigor at harvard is pretty intense, lots of homework...but yeah my 3.1 gpa at harvard is pretty much the same as your 4.0 at X state university..."
I'm probably going to say, sure it is, we'll find out after we apply to med/grad school.

Nice imput noob...like the scenario, which im sure happens very frequently...

^^I agree. If you go over the law school forum, a lot of students posted a question that they have 2.65 from Brown( or whatever your favorite top school here), can they still get into top law schools. It's a bit too late to ask those kind of questions in my opinion.

I completely agree.. as a "top" student(top 1% of class, 33 on act), i am being pushed the the HYPS type of schools. But in reality, i really just want to go to Point Park. It's my perfect fit and is gonna cost me a lot less
i'm so over the hype

Fit is overrated. Like just about any institution, business, location, movie, book, or restaurant, some are better than others. There is a lot more variability in quality than variability amongst student preferences, especially amongst a group with similar academic qualifications. Just as when you are in a new area, you choose a restaurant by selecting the one that is busy, so too you select a college based partly on how you think you'll fit, but mainly on the wisdom inherent in of the choices of many similar applicants.
