Lets make a "what to take to on campus auditions list"

Haha - I ramped it up a notch when hubby came home Sunday from D’s audition at Baldwin Wallace with a bad case of the flu --five days later he is finally fever free but still not 100%. Germ thing just got REAL. (D is healthy so far, thankfully.)

I found the anitbacterial scarf on Amazon. I don’t think we’re allowed to post links, but if you search “Germbana” (that name cracks me up) you should find it. They make gloves, too! :D

^^AsstToTheMT, you would get along famously with my friend monkey13 (LOTS of posts in the MT forum); she sprayed Secret of Thieves on every surface when traveling last year to audition with her D, they wore masks in planes, Purell by the gallon, the whole 9! Whatever works!

Whatever works, indeed! Needless to say, I headed right to Amazon after I posted! Germamom on the case!! LOL

I think this would be a great way to find each other…all the parents are wearing the germbana!

HAAAA!!! Good idea, bisouu!!

I have Thieves Spray too! We spray the hotel vents! Ahhhhh!

Edited to add: And I have enjoyed Monkey13’s posts for months. That might actually be how I heard about the Thieves’ Spray.

Germbana comes in your choice of two drab colors. We’ll start a trend!

If you are doing an on-campus audition and the school has not specified lunch arrangements, I highly suggest packing your own lunch or having a parent go out and bring a lunch to you in case you don’t have enough time.

Thanks for the Germbana advice!

Packing now and this thread is helping! Son almost forgot to bring his plays. For boys, dress belt (forgot that his first audition), dance belts, towel for after dance calls that happen before the audition, cords and chargers, and batteries for MP3 player if outlet not available.
Just swaddled son’s audition clothes in tissue paper hoping to avoid ironing in the hotel.

I urge everyone to have a copy of all music, photos, resumes, and monologues “in the cloud.” Very cheap insurance.

And not to be too much of a helicopter parent, but double-check or have your S/D double-check – meaning actually verify visually – that all items to be packed actually made it into the bags! Too easy to mentally check something off the list and assume it was packed when it wasn’t…which is how we found ourselves at the conveniently located Radio Shack in Port Authority shelling out $100 for a JBL Flip player to replace the forgotten-at-home player my S repeatedly assured me was in the backpack!

Long live Thieves spray! Break a leg to all you auditioners as Unifieds get underway! Tell your kids to BE THEMSELVES and they will end up where they are meant to be. Can’t wait to hear about all your succecces!

Today…was just too funny. This is our 5th on campus audition S joked about how different it is. Long story short…we walked down steps, across the lot to get to the Corbett Center in 6 inches of snow this AM. At some point I realize I left in a rush and forgot to put socks on. S’s audition outfit was not in a garment bag or any type of bag. He came dressed in his dance wear, sweats over his shorts, I didn’t pack snacks and neither one of us packed water. He said “LOL this is like the biggest audition for me and we are a mess”

Lol @mtmajorcook!! What a difference a couple of months make!

On another note, germbana has been purchased. Thanks, Amazon prime!

This is probably a no brainier for guys who are dancers, but a dance belt for each dance call! We packed two, but it is clear an extra would have been nice. Son learned the joys of washing a dance belt by hand, and it decorated the room last night as it dried!

Bumping up for 2109 peeps!

Germbana is the funniest thing I have ever seen. The pockets are killing me…

Wow, @MTMajorCook, you’re really thinking ahead!

:)) yea I want everyone to be prepared for years to come
