<p>From personal experience, I would say start searching for schools as soon as possible - if you plan to apply while in eighth grade, for example, start looking while you're in seventh grade. I ended up not really looking at a lot of schools because I procrastinated and started late - around the September/October before applications were due. If you start early, you obviously have more time to think about your choices and explore more choices, as well as visit, etc.</p>
