I came up with the idea for this game last night in the CC chat but nobody wanted to play X-(. Anyway, ill be the head of admissions at Harvard! Post a reply with ur GPA, scores, classes, ECs, etc and write a paragraph about whatever u want. Since Harvard has about a 10% acceptance rate, ill pick one out of every 10 of you guys to be accepted! If you look good but the group of 10 u were in had a bunch of geniuses, i might waitlist you. And the first 10 that reply will be considered EDs, which i will pick 2 people from. I might also defer some of the ED people as well. So lets begin!

lol i don't think everyone has time to play a GAME that takes that much typing and stuff..

reasons why no one's responding.

someone can just bloat up their stats like iwannagoivy's, and this game would become pointless.

takes too much time to post up their stats.

because this game is incredibly subjective, people may all be like "why did you choose that guy, this girl, etc. etc."

people may not like the fact that you are the head of admissions and that you are the only one with the authority to judge other people.

well the winners of this game would be the admissions people next round. And i guess i could shorten it up a bit. How bout ur top 3 ecs and awards, ur test scores, and just a short 5-10 sentence paragraph?

I'll give it a shot. (I am just curious). give me a moment...

we already have enough college admissions to deal with, without playing your silly game.

ccoommee ooonnn..im bored

Background
Hispanic female/middle class/severe hearing loss/New York/major-molecular biology

Grades
3.81 UW, 4.13 W (+1.0 for both honors and APs)
Downtrend grades in junior year because I pushed myself A LOT by taking many hard courses with no background of taking one before, but then A LITTLE upward in the end of the year; an extra class in junior year

Rank
Second top decile- very competitive school (many of its applicants attend M.I.T, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Duke, Columbia etc.)

Scores
SAT: 2030 (730 M, 680 W, 620 R)
History- 610, Math IIC- 750, Chemistry-550
4s on USH and Psych

EC
1) Research in an internationally reowned lab at a top 20 university and part of the published research paper-I'm the only high school student there
2) Tutoring a deaf student for 2 years
3) Volunteering at the hospital-very unique and rare opportunity for my age

First of all, I wrote an additional essay about how my disability made me want to help other disabled people- it is not about the obstacles I faced and overcome; instead, it shows how it shaped my life in medicine/science. Second of all, my verbal score on SAT is too low due to the fact that I am hearing impaired. My hearing loss makes the mastery of English language more difficult for me because I don't have an access to build my vocabulary from conversations. Since written english is based on spoken language, strong english skills are built verbally.

accepted, rejected, or waitlisted?

yeah ur scores are a bit low (cept for math) but since ur hearing impaired, ill let that one slide a bit. Your ECs look awesome. It sounds like youll have a good essay to write. I kinda wanna waitlist you with that 2030 SATI and ur 550 on chemistry. But since you're the first one to actually post their stats, ill accept you! Welcome to Harvard! ;-D

Here is my real stats.

~African American
~Took rigorous courseloads, but my school doesn't offer many AP courses
~Unweighted: 3.72
~Weighted: 4.03
~SAT I: Old SAT of 1420 (680 CR, 740 M)
~New Sat of 2090 (680 CR, 680 W, 730 M)
~SAT II: 640 History, 700 Biology and 780 Math IIC
~4s on Psychology and Statistics
~Involved in community service (150+ hours), shadowing a doctor in the hospital, research, baseball (JV) for 2 years, and three academic clubs (chemistry, physics and math)
~Suburban (good school but limited number of AP courses and very few minority students taking rigorous courses), my grandparents got poor education (immigrants) but my parents got high education as well as highly respected career in medicine, permanent resident (not an American citizen), my parents make $80,000-100,000 a year

Yay, I got in Harvard. I haven't even started my senior year! I am right now throwing my essays and applications away, and I am soooo happy. Lol. ;-D

eh im gonna defer you, wow. Since you are african american, i think youd have a great shot at actually getting in if you brought that score up a bit. Your GPAs a bit low though. However, your ECs look nice I think. Do you have any leadership positions in your academic clubs?

uhhhh.....no I don't have any leadership positions in my academic clubs. Basically, people just create clubs, and there is only one leadership position: founder who becomes the president automatically. That's it.

well ill see....looks like this game aint gonna get too popular so ill prbly accept you ;-D

lol. is this the nerdiest game i've seen or what.

if only it was this easy
