Let's Survive the Wait Together

I’m not too worried about the waiving rights aspect of the form. If you are doing well I don’t see how it really matters. What professor would prefer you not see that you’re doing well?

They are more apt to make nicer comments if you’re going to read the form is what I’ve seen

Some days go by fast, others feel soooo long…

chicagobear1,

I can definitely sympathize with how you’re feeling. I also applied to the toughest schools, and even though I know the chance are low, I can’t help but feel anxious about the decisions and I too am already starting to feel the impending heartbreak upon opening those rejection emails.

I took my winter quarter finals today. Any other prospective transfers currently on the quarter system?

I am looking at volunteering to help the people in Japan… Would highly recommend anyone reading this thread to help out if you get too bored :P

hey Johnny, what kind of volunteer do you want to do? I am thinking of, but I don’t know how.

I will be heading off with the military to support. To be honest, I am not sure how many volunteer opportunities there are for civilians. There are definitely some charities to donate to though  (Google! lol)

I’m on spring break right now and have been counting down everyday. I should hear back from a school in mid-April. The anxiety is killing me!!!

Well, background info: I applied to 3 schools which are UC Santa Cruz(pending), SJSU (in), SFSU(in). I am regretting not applying to other schools because I need to take an extra class to ensure my admittance to SJSU. I might end up doing a full other year if I can’t transfer. I really wanted to be a BANANA SLUG. I’m kind of upset that the majority of students applying to UCSC are applying for it as a backup- back up school, while I really want to attend. Taking precious spaces!

Anywho… I’m focusing really hard on my course work. I have 4 classes I am completing at once (graduation requirement at my CC). I want to finish out strong so that if I can appeal, I’ll be granted admission.

Other than that, I’m broke as heck… So it’s even more depressing since the weather hasn’t been all that great and doing anything is so expensive. I play video games, work and do homework. I’m such an exciting person hahaha. Oh, and also I restricted my checking the app site to 2 times a day (first day of releasing decisions I was checking non-stop!). This has helped a lot.

Tootles!

I am so glad I found this thread! I had been looking in the wrong section for a while.

My ultimate first choice will tell me around mid May. Other than that, I hear from my other 3 sometime next week. I am super excited/nervous. This is my second semester in college, I overloaded and it is VERY tough, BUT I do see the light at the end of the tunnel now!

ChicagoBears - I am! It’s really frustrating because my credits don’t add up and I would have heard a month ago if I had been on the semester system…

Where did you apply??

I applied to Northwestern (also on the quarter system) and Vanderbilt. I should be hearing back from Vandy in 3-4 weeks, Northwestern mid-late June. The wait is driving me insane!

All but one of my schools most likely won’t send me an answer until JUNE. JUUUUUUNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEE!!! AAAARGH!! lol it’s driving me up a wall…

@katerinas- Correct me if I’m wrong, but for those that applied as a backup, if they get into any of their higher-choice schools, won’t that mean their turning down the offer from UCSC will free up more spaces? Like, couldn’t you maybe get waitlisted, if nothing else, and then get in by some people rejecting their admission offer? Just trying to give you some extra hope since you mentioned you were upset about people taking up precious spaces while only wanting UCSC as a safety. But you got two other acceptances already, so keep your chin up!! I’m sure you’ll get in first round anyway! :)

B ump.

The wait is almost over!

I am very nervous too! Applied for NYU and Cornell for hotel management. since Cornell said they do regular mails for admission results, i checked my mailbox 3 times a day just hoping to see fat envelopes! I checked my email every two or three hours for NYU…
anyone know when will we heard from these two schools?

I think NYU doesn’t come until early to mid-May and not sure about Cornell.

The wait right now is absolutely awful - I wish I could fast-forward three or four weeks till when the decisions begin coming!

Hey guys! Applied to six schools but main choices are Vassar and Wesleyan. If I could get into either I would be ecstatic. I find out in early May and I have been so so stressed out because of it. This thread is nice.

I’m waiting for Lehigh and U of Rochester. Already got into Northeastern, Clarkson, and a state school.

Lehigh should come next Friday and god knows when Rochester will come through since they are running much later than they had estimated ahead of time. I have deposits due on May 1 so I hope they decide by then!
