Let's think of ideas for new AP courses.

I think it’s the closest reasonable thing that the College Board could get to a “class that actually teaches Computer Science and not how to make AbstractBeanFactories in Java,” as you so eloquently put it, while still being able to offer a profitable exam. Given that students need to understand discrete math well to do anything useful in theoretical computer science, it’s a good start. More importantly, it would help teach students some real math, as opposed to that silly race to calculus that we all engage in.

ap linguistics

ap sexual education

ap cosmology

ap 6th century literature

AP Business Management and AP Indian History

@"Keasbey Nights"‌ I think AP Accounting is actually being tested out by some schools right now; I’ve heard rummmooorss ;).

AP Independent Life

  1. How do you balance your time?
  2. How do you eat?
  3. Make a balanced budget that incorporates income, loans, and all expenditures.
  4. Interview skills
  5. Resume building
  6. Building self-confidence
  7. Health and fitness
  8. how to do your taxes, save as much money without putting yourself at risk of an audit or anything stupid
  9. Appearance, social interactions, first impressions
  10. Microsoft Access, Excel, and the life of an employee
    etc

Then, and I’m just throwing this out there, divide AP Spanish Literature either by hemisphere or time periods.

@"Keasbey Nights"‌ I’m amazed you’re still here five years later xD

AP Cantonese Chinese
AP Music History
AP Korean
Bring back AP Computer Science AB?
AP Asian History
AP World Religions (I honestly have no idea what to call it, but a class the explores the major religions of the world. I’m not even sure if that’s legal, but whatever xD)
AP Philosophy (I’m not even sure if this would work out, but still sounds cool!)
AP Astronomy
AP Arabic
AP Vietnamese
AP Esperanto (man made languages, I just think that’s a cool concept in general)

Folks at my school desperately want AP Lunch. Also, I wouldn’t mind AP Orchestra and AP Gaming. ;)

Wait, AP Philosophy? Wouldnt we need first a regular philosphy class?

AP Sociology, if it wasn’t suggested already.

AP buisness would be cool.

AP How To File Taxes. :D

AP Drama and Theater

If there is an AP European History course (which I loved), there should also be an AP African, AP Asian, and AP Latin American History course as well.

AP Thought I & II

A study of the evolution of human thought from the Ancients to the Renaissance (I) to the modern period (II), focused on the Western tradition, with some discussion of Eastern thought as it affects the west.

AP Murder.
AP Killing
AP Throwing-acid-on-peoples-face
AP Laughing

More and Better Computer Science
AP Linear Algebra
AP Discrete Mathematics
AP Materials Science (that would be fun)
AP Cryptography
AP Logic Design/Boolean Logic

AP Scientific Writing might be unpopular but very helpful for students interested in STEM fields.

AP Cheating, I wonder how many people would get a 5 on the AP exam.

^That’s really sad.

AP Earth Science please, so the class isn’t just a low-level ninth grade science course people take just for the graduation credit.

Ironically enough, I feel like the AP sciences I have taken have served more to show that I actually really dislike those subjects than develop an interest.
