Let's think of ideas for new AP courses.

AP Multivariable Calculus!

And AP Linear Algebra

Another vote for AP Accounting!!!

AP Anthropology

and my school has AP Studio Art and AP Photographyā€¦ I guess they donā€™t have to take tests but thereā€™s A LOT of outside work and you have to submit a portfolio

AP Sociology, definitely.

AP Military History would be really interesting and I second Sociology

I second Sociology, too.

AP Health sounds like a good one.

At school we have a Cinema class that analyzes movies. They mainly watch movies for Civil Rights ideas. Iā€™d like to go into techniques, cinema evolution, as well as the obvious recurring themes. Maybe like Literature, where you contrast works?

I would like to see that as an AP class. ā€œAP Cinemaā€ would be similar to a Literature class.

AP Asian History is an awesome idea. Maybe divide AP World into AP African History and AP Asian History. I loved the Japanese history course I took at my high school. Otherwise: AP Philosophy, AP Multivariable, AP Classical History (although AP Latin kind of covers this).

AP Differential Equations

I second AP Anthropology. Itā€™s the best IB class ever.

AP Calculus CD (Calculus 3)

AP Accounting

AP Politics / Current Events

I would say-

AP Linguistics, Sociology, Philosophy, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or Architecture
AP Adv Mathematics (multivar, diff eq, linear alg, etc.)
Some kind of AP Performing Arts or AP Musical Instrument (Demonstration)

AP Language- Just language test thatā€™s translated into to all the miscellaneous extra langs. W/ minimal or no culture/history/etc.

Does anyone have any idea how one could propose an AP course to college board? I do not mean this in terms of writing up a proposal and the like, but if you were to write an extensive proposal/class description, where would you be able to submit the material?

AP Philosophy would be idealā€¦although it would probably have less people than French literature xD

^Iā€™m actually writing up a course description for a proposed AP Western Philosophy Course (basing the syllabus and course content on the content covered in the generic Intro to Philosophy courses at a variety of universities). Hence, my last post.

AP Asian History
AP Nutrition
AP Theology

I actually came up with several of these a long time ago, so Iā€™ll post them here:

AP Theatrical Theory (to go with Music Theory)

AP Media and Journalism

AP Russian Language/Literature (I know they had something like this in the works but it was scrapped, it seems)

AP Latin American History

AP Middle Eastern History

AP Arabic Language

AP African English Literature

Also splitting AP Chemistry into Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry (since the latter isnā€™t covered very much in the current exam)

I wish theyā€™d bring French Literature back.

I like albettkimmā€™s ideas of AP Asian History and AP Theology as well. :)

If they had an AP Media and Journalism, Iā€™d be in heaven. Iā€™d also like to see AP Womenā€™s Studies and AP Sports Lit. Both classes would be very interesting and Iā€™m sure a lot of students would enroll in them. Personally, Iā€™d like to see AP American Sign Language or AP Video Production.
