Letter from Dean?

My son is a new admit to Princeton, and he got a letter today from Dean Malkiel inviting him to contact faculty members with any questions. Wondering if it's okay to actually make contact or just ask his questions during next week's Admit Days? It's certainly impressive that faculty members are willing to take questions!

geesh, this is wonderful and a good example of things to come once he enrolls at Princeton.

have him contact some of the faculty members that might have answers in particular fields that he is thinking of studying particularly if the decision is between Princeton and another university.

Absolutely, the offer is genuine.

In fact, if your son has a favorite Princeton Professor that he has admired through the years in the areas that he wants to pursue at Princeton, please double make sure that he contacts the professor - no matter how famous the professor might be.

This is what teaching and learning at Princeton undergraduate school is all about - access to the top professors in the field of study.

and scoutsmom, a scouting report on the results of the call would be appreciated, good or bad.

Did all admitted students receive this letter from the Dean?

Yes, I received one too… It looks like something that could have been sent out en masse.
