d got a letter from the Questbridge asking her to apply to the program. I do not know much about this program but from what I got from the website, this program is for a low income families. We are a middle class family. Why did we get this letter? D has a high stats.
You might have gotten the letter just because your D’s scores were noticed by a testing agency.
If family income is really far above Questbridge’s range (approximately, under 65k for a family with typical expenses, but higher for families with unusual expenses) then she might still find some inspiration in the founder’s letter.
If your income is above, but not too far from, the QB range, then she might still want to consider looking at some partner colleges, many of which offer generous need-based aid at higher income levels than that.
And if your income is within, even on the border of, the QB range, like ours was in 2013, great things might come from applying.
