I have heard of people writing letters of appeal when the are rejected or deferred from colleges in hopes of changing their minds. Does this ever actually work? I haven't gotten rejected yet, but I will be finding out anyday and am getting nervous. Just wondering if it would be of any help at a state school (penn state university park), as I have only ever heard of people doing this for ivy league schools and such.

For the most part, the decision of the tribal counsel is final some schools (example, columbia) tell you straight up that they don't entertain appeals.
