Letter Of Appointment?

I've received a LOA, and sent in everything except the medical exam, CFA results, and postcard with my first semester grades. I have received a nomination, so thats taken care of. Assuming I still need the CFA results and DoDmerb eval, how long after I get those in will I get my letter? Do they wait to send the letter of appointment until after I have completed my first semester grades postcard, or can the postcard be sent in after I have been accepted?

Thanks for the help.

prolly 1 to 2 weeks after everything is completed.

how do you know? I'd love as much info as I could get. PLEASE HELP! :)

put it this way...1-2 weeks after your file on the web site is complete. You need to get that cfa and dodmerb done soon. There is a deadline for each I think. Anyway, after everything is complete and in, you'll get your appointment in about a week.

does file completion mean filling out the postcard with first semester grades or is that just a way of checking up on u after the letter of appointment has been sent out? I can't wait for the big envelope... hope I'm healthy.

Last year our daughter received her appointment before she sent in her first semester grades. Appointment came before xmas and semester grades were sent in at the end of January.

thank you shogun.

actually, one more thing while i'm at it. shogun- when was your daughter able to come home as a plebe>

Breaks for Plebes are for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break. Plus 1 weekend per semester (contingent upon not loosing priviledges). For the summer there is a little less than 3 weeks between Graduation (required attendance) and the start of CFT (as long as summer classes not required). Some activities, sports or WP clubs, require remaining on post during the particular season or attending special training. Examples are the football team is required to stay on post during Thanksgiving to practice for the Army/Navy game and the parachute team usually trains over Spring Break, etc.

And the above is assuming they live close enough to the academy to come home. Our daughter hasn't been home since R day in June. Her first trip home will be at the end of finals on friday this week.

Shogun! This has to be one of the best Christmas' ever for you & your family. This past six months must feel like an eternity and then some. I feel so badly that I was on here complaining about not seeing my kid for four months then when he came home in Oct., I was back on here spouting about how awesome it was. Sorry! You can virtual kick me in the shin for insensitivity. Wishing her the safest, quickest travel home to you. Slow your clock while she's home and enjoy!!

Jamzmom! Yep, her room is as she left it!!

We've had R-Day, A-Day, Labor Day, PPW, Thanksgiving, Army-Navy Game, and now the big break. She comes home on Thursday night. Needless to say, the time between R-Day and A-Day is an absolutely, dreadfully long time. And the A-Day weekend is the shortest weekend of your life.

For families who live closer to school, there may be opportunities to visit at religious services, or athletic events.

shogun, I'm so happy for you and your family to have your daughter home. Have a blast! And catch up on Battlestar Gallactica.
