Letter of Continued Interest Help

I am in the process of drafting a letter of continued interest for a college I was deferred from. Looking online, it seems that these letters typically include achievments and awards earned following the submission of the initial application. However, though this sounds bad, I really have not had any achievements or awards since that point. What do I do???

You don’t need to have received any new achievements or awards in order to send a LOCI. Sometimes deferrals are for yield protection (college is unsure you would attend) and not indicator of insufficient achievement. I recommend you find out who the local admissions counselor is —for the territory where your high school is located—and send an email (not more than a paragraph) re-stating your strong interest in the school and saying why you believe you are a good fit for the school—how your interests align with what the school has to offer—mentioning academic program you are interested in, and any leadership and involvement how you can contribute to campus life. But remember to keep it short. Say it in a paragraph, the shorter the better. The LOCI will be placed in your file and looked at upon re-review. It could make a difference. And if you know you would definitely attend if accepted (and cost is not an issue), then say so.

Only send one LOCI where you would say you would 100% attend if admitted.
