I was waitlisted at my first choice school, Rice University, and want to write a letter of intent, but have no clue how to do so. I know that I basically state how it is my first choice, how I would be a good fit, and what activities I have done or awards I have received since I turned in my application, but I have a few questions:
1. How formal should it be?
2. I want to talk about Rice's traditions and how they show the awesome school spirit, but one tradition in particular (Baker 13) might be too risky. If anyone knows what this is, any input?
3. What else do I need to include in the letter?
4. Should it have the formal business format with the address on the top, etc.
5. Should I email it to them or physically mail it?
6. Any other tips??? I REALLY want to get off the waitlist at Rice.

Thanks so much in advance!
