I’m planning on transferring but i’m really worried about getting letters of recommendation. I’ve only been in school for one semester and I’m not sure who I should ask. I’ve done very very well in two classes related to my major, but they were large lecture classes and I made the mistake of not going to office hours, so the professors don’t know me. The only person I could think to ask that knows me well enough is the TA who taught my biology lab. Would a letter of rec from them still be acceptable even though they’re a TA? I’m planning on going to office hours of my professors next semester, but I’m worried that I won’t be able to get to know them well enough before my applications are due. Does anyone have any advice?
Most colleges have their recommendation letter policies on their websites, and some even mention whether or not they “accept” letters from TA’s. Check out the information on each of their websites, but if it falls down to it, I’d definitely get the letter from your TA if you truly feel that your professor won’t feel comfortable in doing so him/herself.
Can we use a high school teacher to write our recommendation if we did really well in that class?
