Hi, I was just wondering if my for my third rec to USC, I asked my church religion teacher to write it, would that be ok?
I emailed the Assistant Director at the admissions office, and she said coaches, advisors, etc were fine, but I'm not sure about mine.

What do you guys think?

The other two I have are from physics teacher and english.

im confused. does the coaches, advisors, and ministers have to do the teacher rec form for usc.

No, they don't. It's just that since my church teacher knows me very well, I was wondering (and emailed USC) about whether or not I could get additional recommendations than jsut one primary academic one.

They replied and said they welcome additional recs but said I should "use judgment" but also said they would accept letters from coaches, advisors. I'm not sure if this includes church teachers -______-".

But...I'm just wondering if it would be alright for me to do that? Would it hurt me or benefit me?

A rec is fine from anyone who knows you well. So yes, a rec from your church teacher is appropriate.
