Letter of Rec is optional but recommended. Will it hurt if i dont send one?

(Im currently a sophomore in college, and i want to transfer to lmu for junior year.)

I think it may be hard to get a close relationship with my teachers since theres pretty much 100+ kids for each class. I may be able to ask my boss from work(im an office assistant at my school). Do you think that would be okay? Or should i not send one at all?

Im worried that the school would accept those with letters of recs over me even though its optional

The truth? If it’s “recommended,” it’s not optional.

You must in out me your way to build a relationship with one or two of your professors. That means during the lecture you jot down questions you have and you in ask them during Office Hours very regularlyif not every week. You do the extra credit. From time to time you sit in the front row and answer questions. If you want a stellar recommendation you must go beyond these basics. In that class your papers must have been reviewed by the writing center and be consistently excellent. You ask for further reading, and once it’s completed you go talk about it. Yes it’s extra work - and that’s why people who have a recommendation will get priority over you if you don’t. Do you have a class this semester where you could do all that?

*Go out of your way
sorry for the typos
