Letter Of Rec Question

I have two great teachers that would write me a letter. One went to U of M and one didn't. The one who didn't I think probably might be a little bit better. Which do you think I should go with? Does Michigan think highly of their own alumni in this regard?

Adam

Wait, don’t you need two letters of rec anyways? And i doubt the university cares at all, because the teacher has no relation to you

One from a consuelor one from a teacher

Yeah I thought you need two rec’s… oh wow I have no ideal.

Honestly, it’s likely to make so little difference that you shouldn’t spend any time whatsoever worrying about it. Flip a coin.

It’s only 1 teacher rec.

If the teacher is just gonna say “yeah, bob is a great student and works hard everyday, blah blah blah”, it probably won’t help or hurt you at all, but if they can talk about a unique experience or quality about you, it can help. Teacher recs can help the ADCOM learn something about you that you couldn’t include anywhere else. Go with the teacher that can talk about these things:

If both recs will be similar, then go with the U of M teacher.
