<p>The teacher will likely mention it in the letter, and it may help if they say “I think sparksfly makes the perfect candidate for _____ as a grad myself” or something. The teacher simply being an alum doesn’t help a whole lot unless they use it to boost you in their letter. Just my opinion though.</p>
