Ok, so I invited a teacher to do the Common Application recommendation. However, I suspect that he used a specific University name on the letter of rec. Unfortunately, this will go out to the few universities I listed on the common app. How does this affect my admissions?

…anyone??

Name must go. D:

BAD!! just dont select the teacher for that one!!! it’s okay if recs come in a bit later but make sure u dont send it in until u ask to change it!

But what if the teacher submitted the letter already???

I would say that your best bet now is to send in the correct recommendation letter asap. After the colleges open up their phone lines, I would call them and ask them to correct the situation and remove the incorrect rec. letter. This way, they’ll take out the wrong letter and by the time this change is made, your correct rec letter will also be on file and your application can go to the admissions committe to get reviewed faster. Hope this helps!

okay I have the same problem right now.
the problem is that the common application WON’T submit your application, UNLESS you have two teachers selected. Therefore, you are forced to choose a teacher in order to even submit your entire application.

what if it’s mandatory that the student has to give 2 letters, and that they only accepts 2 letters? (i’ve also given them 1 letter from a different teacher). in the common app, the university wont accept any more letters because both teacher slots have submitted…

should i just have him mail the corrected letter? if i mail the corrected letter, will it get there in time?

…bump

bump having same problem
