Letter of Rec? This Late?

I have been interning at Senator Kerry's office for about 3 months now and this morning we were discussing college and what not. I told him how I got wait listed at UMich and how it was my top choice even though it was a major reach. He offered to write me a letter of recommendation. I feel like it's way too late in the game to have an impact on the decision though.

What do you think?

Give it a shot. What do u have to lose?

Very true. But most wait listed people don’t find out till the summer if they are accepted or not.

They WANT you to send this stuff in, believe me! Anything to make you stand out and give them a reason to accept you is worthwhile.

I’d say go for it. I am sure they are having to make the really tough choices now, and sending in this letter may make their decision on you a bit easier.

But I guess in one way it’s a risk… personally, I hate Kerry. Hopefully admissions will like him ;)

Hahah very true. Michigan is pretty liberal though so hopefully it’ll work out for the best!

tilohnine, find out who your AO is at Michigan and make sure the letter is sent directly to them. If you just send it to their regular mailing address, it may not get the unique attention it deserves.

Good point OEN, thanks! I’ll get on that :)
