I was wondering if you should submit more teacher letter of recommendations than what is required? Would it hurt to submit optional teacher letter of reccs?
Thanks!

For most colleges two teacher LOR should be the maximum you send. Do not send extras.
However, many colleges will accept one supplemental LOR but that should be from someone who knows you in a different capacity and can speak to attributes that don’t necessarily show up in a classroom (ex. a boss at work, music teacher etc.)
Okay so if there is one required teacher LOR and one optional teacher LOR I should just submit the one teacher LOR?
If the college gives you the option to supply two teacher LORs then it is fine to supply two. I thought you were asking about sending ones over and above what is asked for.
Unless you have an idea that the additional LOR would be exceptional and offer something that would bolster your case, no. Only one of my daughters sent an additional LOR because for one, it was during Covid and she was applying TO and two, we felt the additional LOR would be noteworthy that would offer something unique and valuable to her college application package. The other daughter who only sent the two, could have added an additional LOR, but we felt that everything that needed to be conveyed, had been done so remarkably well that another might be unnecessary. It worked out for both.
Okay thank you!
