Letter of Reccomendation

I’m looking to transfer to UNC from a community college.

Question about LoR: I’ve taken all my courses online and I’m a non-traditional student so many of my high school teachers are retired (at best). I’ve gotten all As, but is there any particular person you’d recommend for an academic letter over another?

Also, the Common App allows for a personal and professional letter. Any insight on those?

I added a personal and a professional, but my reasoning was just the more people recommending you the better! Though of course, you should assume the academic holds the most weight. I also got an academic reference from my high school teacher, and she was retired, so might as well ask!

I probably should specify that I graduated high school 20 years ago.

Also, did you get in?

Do you have any professors from your CC that could write the letter for you? Work supervisors?

I’ve read that for students like yourself, a letter from an employer (or in certain cases a client) is a solid replacement for an academic LOR. But this is of course second to a professor.

Thanks.
