Letter of recommendation from counselor?

The school I am applying to only requires one letter of recommendation, I have known my Guidance Counselor for 4 years and have visited her multiple times a year whenever I had a problem with my grades or questions about colleges, I am 100% sure that she would give me a great "rating" but the only problem is she is a guidance counselor. My Back up choice would be my English Teacher for Junior year.

What does the college’s website say about who should write the recommendation?

"Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor. "

You should be fine using the GC. Good luck.

Most colleges require that you have two letters (one from an academic teacher and one from your counselor). All colleges know that students don’t spend much time with their counselors. Most letters written by counselors are based on your stats and they are usually quite good at writing letters.
